An online degree program has the advantage of not holding a student hostage to some of the demands of a traditional college or university setting. Those who have a strong aversion to in-class oral presentations can avoid them while pursuing an online degree. Also, students who are self-starters and enjoy working independently can avoid the "group project" class assignments that are often a part of traditional campus-based degree programs.
